Travertine outdoor paving project

Travertine outdoor paving: Blended with the nature The use of travertine for outdoor paving shows how the natural stone connects with the Mediterranean environment. In our last project in Ibiza Islands was intended the use of natural Travertine for outdoor paving in the refurbishment of an old farm into a villa. The warm of the stone and its adaptability of open air has achieved a unique blend that contact deeply with the calm surrounding forest. Walls of Ibiza rough stone fits perfectly with the travertine in tumbled finish and with the swimming pool surroundings in brushed finish with chiseled edges. Inside the swimming pool were installed the Sukabumi stone, a fantastic magmatic stone that flourish in stunning iridescent green colors when underwater. Inside a delicate travertine vein cut honed & filled has been installed, but that’s another story… LINKS: General info: https://www.marmorama.es Travertine tiles paving:  https://marble.marmorama.es/etiqueta-producto/trave...

Travertine Silver

Image
Silver travertine is part from the travertine family which is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs. Its porous structure presents a mixture of light and dark silver with beige, blue, brown and grey tones with significant movement throughout. That type is sourced from different countries, such as Italy, Iran and Turkey. It’s difficult to differentiate the origin when not known, as they differ internally in the petrographic structure, being the Italian the stronger one. Most common finishes are polished (pore open, pore closed transparent), honed (pore filled color) or also in sandblasted or brushed finish, very popular for wall cladding structures or exterior pavement. THE KEY Before all consideration about we have to point out about the cut as pattern changes dramatically if opted for one option or another.   VEIN CUT When cut showing the parallel veining CROSS CUT When cut showing clouds, waves of color TYPES TRAVERTINE SILVER WHITE A milky background cr...

Travertine, the return of a classical

Image
Travertine is the rock that is on the top right now. This sedimentary stone whose use in centuries is perfectly renowned was practically disappeared in the 70’s, set aside only for coffee tables. The search of architects for new products with a malleable behavior, and with a sense of nature, has put on the first step the use of the Travertine, as this rock can be tailored not only for any kind of building use (wall claddings for façades or pavement, polished or honed interiors) but overall for its plasticity, changing the ambience of new stores into a museum look, or converting buildings into timeless monuments. One of the most important values is the capacity of this stone to be use in big and home projects adding the movement of this parallel veining and small holes and playing with the warmly touch of this creamy rock approaching the architecture to the human tall. But we have not to set our eyes in the cream background, new designs are possible with the not so known varietie...
